Maherida beach – Tersanas beach – Lazaretta (7hrs)

The beach of Maherida is located 14km northeast of Chania. It is named after the rocky cape in its north end that reminds of a knife (maheri – in greek). The area is not organized and attracts many nudists. The stunning little beach with white sand and turquoise water is shaped in the center of the bay, surrounded by sharp rocks and the coastline near it is a unique habitat for small wild animals.

Our next stop is close by at Tersanas beach. Tersanas is a small coastal village located 13km northeast of Chania and hidden in a small cove on the west side of Cape Akrotiri.  The beach is shaped inside an enclosed natural harbor, which faces southwest. It is a sandy beach with white fine sand and shallow crystal-clear water.

Our final stop is Lazaretta island, which is located near the city of Chania. On the island, there is a small sandy beach ideal for swimming and relaxation. There are many rock pools close to the little sandy beach, ideal for snorkeling. You’ll have the chance to swim among the fish and even feed these Mediterranean small fellas.
